ITALY / INVESTOR VISA
Italy Investor Visa.
A deliberate investment.
Italy’s Investor Visa offers eligible non-EU applicants several qualifying investment or donation routes. Each carries distinct commitments and risks.

Four different qualifying commitments
| Route | Qualifying amount |
|---|---|
| Innovative Italian startup | €250,000 |
| Italian limited company | €500,000 |
| Italian government bonds | €2 million |
| Qualifying philanthropic initiative | €1 million |
These are separate options. A home purchase does not substitute for the qualifying investment. Startup and company investments can lose value; a philanthropic contribution is not recoverable investment capital.
How the process works
The official process starts with committee clearance, followed by the visa application. After arrival, the residence-permit application is due within eight days and the investment or donation must be completed within three months. The initial permit is two years; renewal requires meeting the applicable conditions.
The committee’s stated assessment period is not a promise for the complete visa and residence process. Additional information requests and consular processing affect timing.
What needs individual advice?
Nationality restrictions, family eligibility, suitable investment structure, continued ownership, renewals and tax obligations need personal review. A low starting threshold does not make a startup a low-risk choice. Government and professional fees are additional.
